Moving Lymph offers Internationally recognised Post-graduate Certificates and Recertification in the original Dr Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage.
Therapist Certificates:
Require a health qualification at AQF or NZQF level 5.

Aesthetician Certificates:
Require a Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Aromatherapy or any eligible Therapist qualification.

All Certificates begin with Level 1.
Taught by Accredited Dr Vodder School Instructors, Level 1 involves six-weeks of online theory followed by four-days of intensive hands-on practical instruction. The Online Coursework delivers all the fundamental theory required to understand the effects of MLD, and the Practical Course teaches all the original Dr Vodder hand movements and their application in drainage sequences for the nine body regions.
Online Coursework, allow 30 hours of home study.
Structured home study revolves around weekly online meetings over the six-weeks leading up to the Level 1 Practical. Home study utilises the Dr Vodder Academy International lectures which are available in 13 languages. The weekly meetings with your Instructor offer support and clarification on the course material and an opportunity to meet your classmates before the Level 1 Practical.

Topics cover in-depth anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the human lymphatic system, and the known physiological responses and contraindications to the Dr Vodder method of MLD. A fundamental understanding of all body systems including standard anatomical and medical terminology is assumed.
It is expected that participants will have an existing clinical framework and understanding of the human anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology relevant to their current modality. This course will extend this knowledge into specialist information on the lymphatic system and its interactions with major body systems.
Required textbook
Dr. Vodder's Manual Lymph Drainage, A Practical Guide. H Wittlinger et al. 2nd Ed. ISBN: 9783132578746
It is available in hard copy from most online booksellers, or in e-text or PDF from the publisher https://shop.thieme.de/en/Dr.-Vodder-s-Manual-Lymph-Drainage/9783132578746
NB, the textbook is NOT included in the course registration fee.
Level 1 Practical, 32 hours of face-to-face instruction.
Four days of intensive hands-on training in the original Dr Vodder techniques; stationary circles, pump, scoop and rotary technique. Effective lymph drainage sequences are learned for all superficial lymphatic drainage regions. The fundamental effects of MLD on lymph vessels, connective tissue and other body systems are discussed.
This is a full immersion into the outermost layers of the body - skin, subcutaneous tissue and superficial lymph vessels. You will learn how to very precisely create the correct degree of shearing force in the tissues to achieve the unique effects of Dr Vodder's technique.

A 70% pass in the Theory exam and 100% attendance at the Level 1 Practical is required to progress to the next Level. There are no Practical assessments and the Level 1 Certificate is not a full Dr Vodder qualification.

Level 2. Dr Vodder's Certificate in Applied MLD
This is where you learn how to apply MLD in the treatment of multiple pathologies where the lymph system remains intact. You will not learn these 'Special' techniques in any other school, and they are a key factor that sets the Dr Vodder method apart from other lymphatic drainage courses.
I feel very fortunate to have completed my MLD training with Jan. If you are sitting on the fence about enrolling, this is your prompt to take the plunge! It was a challenging yet rewarding experience, made all the more greater by Jan's teaching and the group of like-minded therapists in the course.

"Dr Vodder's Applied MLD is an intensive course that provides a great in depth understanding of the lymphatic system and why it is so important for a healthy body. By just practicing the techniques I was learning on my family while doing the course I could see the initial benefits of manual lymphatic drainage."
